What are the warning lights in the speedo pod? I have the red one in the lower left which does not want to go off and the orange one in the lower right which is oil pressure correct?
:EDIT:
Ok this is the Alternator and how I wired it up. Firstly I'm not 100% sure what it's off, could be a Gemini or Pulsar I don't know;

The black (regulator I think it is) has two prongs and the standard female spade terminal on the black wire slips straight on. I can't see any-other terminals on the alternator. Is this wired up correctly?
This is a "new" replacement engine that came with the alternator already on it and this is the first time I've put it in a car to be used.
I just want to make sure it's wired up right and I want that dam charge light to go off.

Looks like std 'multi fit' Bosch unit, fits lots of pommy stuff and early falcons etc. Made to fit in place of generators. The big wire obviously goes to battery via 'live terminal on solinoid, the S terminal goes there too but for some reason should be separate wire, it's the battery charge sensing wire, the L one's for the light. If you can't find a plug for these, nick one of an injection car, it's the same plug as on many injectors. Good sparky should have replacement one's too.

The car is elc dizzy, no starter solenoid. Am I supposed to have a third wire to the alt?
The mini previously had the same setup as now just different versions of the parts ie std Rover pre-engaged starter now Gemini pre-engaged starter, Rover elc dizzy now Pulsar elc dizzy. The old alt only used these two wires and was an after market replacement same as this one but this one looks better so I'd prefer to use it and I want to make sure it works properly :? .

The green wire connect to where the yellow terminal is and the black wire went to the top vertical male blade terminal if any of that helps.

in that case the wires that would have gone to 'live' soliniod terminal, go to terminal on the starter that the battery cable connects to. Where at yandina are you, i'm at pomona, might be able to help.

I can get connector plug from old car at work if that helps. Just splice it in.

Took it for it's first major drive tonight. All seemed fine but towards the end I did realize the lights getting a bit dimmer but it took a fair while, I thought it would happen quicker.
I might swap back to the old alternator and see if anything changes.

On a Bosch alternator it needs a switched 12V from the fusebox, or it won't charge. The indicator light wiring doesn't do it like in a Lucas.
I found this when we put a Bosch EA Falcon one on Lillee's Mini years ago.

There is a thread about this from years ago, do a search.

That would explain why the indicators were slow and eventually stopped flashing, just stayed in at the end.

Problem solved, like above I just swapped back to the Mitsubishi alternator and it's all as it was. Saves trying to sort out that extra wiring.
