Hey all, finally got around to diagnosing the Brick... Guess what? ANOTHER FREAKING HEAD GASKET !! I was pretty sure that the head is a little warped, now I'm sure.... Less than 150Km on this one (Pair, actually) Clean Burn, right between 2 and 3.. same place it went the last two times... I would expect that if it was purely detonation causing it, it would be more "Random" on the cylinder that it targets... but its always between 2 and 3 ... Heads off to the machine shop on Monday..... Kev, maybe time to talk about one of your "DRMini Specials" .......... J |

james,, wouldnt have anything to do with them two leads being in the wrong spot maybe?? have you tried the acl gasket? Did u re torque the head? spose there are a few reasons why they keep blowing,, nothing to do with running 30psi of boost ![]() |

James, just fit a 940 or 1316 head, and BK450 turbo gasket = no more problems! Chamber size = whatever you want up to 30cc or so. ALL the smallbore heads flex more than the bigass 1275 ones do. ![]() |

Take your pick James-- #1, 12G1316- needs exhaust seats but that's no problem to get done. I have some Rover unleaded inserts. #2, 12G1316- G.R. & I fixed the rusted inlet seat with a 4140 insert, it just needs all seats recut now and it's a goer. Both heads are bare now but I have 1 set of valves- If I were you I'd buy new ones. They are pretty cheap now. 1100S inlets 12G941 $14.12 each 1275 exhausts 12G1322 $20.32 each. Karcraft's prices- not worth mucking about with S/H is it. ![]() |
