Hi, my fuse box will no longer securely hold one of the fuses am I better to order a new 2 glass fuse one or pick up a new blade style one from a local auto shop? Cheers. |

I would be sticking with the old 2 fuse style. It's not great, but it's worked fine all these years. They're also cheap as chips and no fiddling around to get it to fit. |

Keep it original I got some Lucas fuses if someone wants the for a concourse car. They're in my 76 but it's not going to stay original |

Can you actually get a bladed fuse box that will fit straight in The problem i have encountered is that you need a fuse box with a double row of connectors and most aftermarket one only have a single row .. |

Do The poor old spare parts salesman a favour, Use the original type, so when someone wants a fuse box in future for this car and says to the spare parts Man I want a fuse box for a Aust Mini year model Whatever The parts Man will supply the correct Part. I say this in jest However It Is True

There was never anything wrong with Lucas fuse boxes. As long as they are kept clean and with the cover on. They have been around long enough to prove themselves. Unless you are doing a custom wiring Job where you need more fused circuits stick to the original one there are plenty available like John MINI KING Said. |

Agree re the fuse box. Keep it original I like the retro look but do have one car I have customized to my liking that could do with a better fuse box arrangement The other cars can stay lucas.. |

A recent idea that was suggested to me was to use TWO standard fuse boxes. That way the fuse box is easy to replace and you don't have to cut/chop/change the loom at all. Sounds like a smart solution to me.

I like the idea of keeping the std box, but where does one procure the smoke from? I need to reinstall some into my lucas lectrics..

What about just putting some pliers on the contacts and bending them back in a bit so they're tighter and the fuse doesn't fall out? |
