Ahh searching searching I'm getting confused. I have an S 1275 block that came with caps but no bolts. Can I use bolts or a stud kit? What size are the bolts? I have read about the stud kit fouling on the gearbox. |

All Cooper S engines had studs.. The 2 centre main studs are longer than the outers. Engine numbers for S are 9FSAY and 9FXEY. Both had open cam follower chests at back of block. 1100 S had bolts for main brg caps. Cooper S block will fit all syncro boxes but if a 3 speed box you much check case number. ![]() |

i used the ARP studs , just dont use the washers on the ends, and machine 4 mm off the stud. ![]() ![]() you can see the washer and the length of the standard arp set up, no good so remove the washer and cut the sud down at the end that goes into the block |
