ok so ive got an 1100 got me some lcb,s and put em on twin inlet manifold ,built up some twin carbs, correct needle springs ,bolted em on turn the key, push the button and the thing just screams its little head of as if at full throttle ,choke set throttle closed , although doesnt make any diff . no floats sticking i have read manual and checked in vizards but cannot rectify problem only way it will run is by turning key on and off before revs get high so pistons dont fly through bonnet have set mixture and played around with that thinking it was too rich but even screwed to top does the same can ny bdy help me or shed some light on what i have overlooked ????? can ran fine with single .

1. how do i get it to 'tick over nice"
2. what else can i try
3. how far should i be able to throw 5/8 spanner

Yeah, sticking butterfly probably. I've thrown spanners into my angry neighbours garden before. Full on chucked them over the fence.

You said you built up a set of SUs didn't you?

I once made the mistake once when I rebuilt a set, I put in those replacement butterfly bushes on the spindles but didn't push them in far enough so air went around the butterfly when I tried to run the car. Took me a while to spot that one.

If you rebuilt the carbs did you maybe fit the butterflys the wrong way? Easy to do...
