Post subject: | Wiring looms .Which one???????? |
Hi Guys, Just would like some info on which wiring loom to buy new as i am doing up my 67 deluxe .Was looking at the minispares.com website and there are MK1 and MK2 wiring looms for sale.My car has an alternator so i guess the generator ones are out . Has anyone out there had this dilemma ?As i don't know where they cross from pommy MK1 to Aussie Mk2. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks fozzo72 |

www.vinwire.com.au They are a Australian company that reproduce excellent wiring harnesses, tell them what you have, what you want and they will make it for you. Doogie |

What Doogie said ^^^ The Vinwire one will fit and be correct. There are a few differences between UK Mini wiring and Oz Mini wiring... (for example, front parkers & blinkers). Vinwire can also add options to it if you want... eg wire it for an alternator, add driving lights, electric fuel pump, etc. |

Try Somerford Mini in the UK ,address below, they do an excellent harness ,I have purchased 4 off them ,they are better than the local ones and work out at about $200 with post ,depending on which one you require . The local harnesses are around $500 - $600 . Somerford are very helpful and can recommned which one is suitable for your mini . Scroll down to the harness descriptions and Click on the' buy now' to see the price http://www.somerfordmini.co.uk/eshop/in ... page&id=90 |

I used Classic Wiring Looms. They were very helpful and very reasonably priced. All our communication was via email and phone and they happily added all the extra relays and upgraded wires and bits and pieces I wanted. Just be specific with them about exactly what you want and they'll do a good job. |

if you use the later looms there is more wires, eg. reverse switch, hazards. it depends what speedo and other things you will need wires for, keep these in mind when choosing a loom, custom or shop bought. |
