I've just assembled one for a Moke, I'm surprised there is no flat or groove on any of the 4 pins to allow lubrication between pin and spider gear (as there is on both stock and competition diff pins).
Anybody here had a bad wear problem with these diffs? :?

They are nicely made, apart from this perceived problem...

nope - not a sausage, I pulled it apart after a year of daily driving and motorkhanas and the pins looked brand new. Same story from a few others who used to run them before Quaifes became cheap

Haven't had a problem from the pins not having the 'lubrication flats' however, they 'cheat' on the spot facings for the sun gears. Instead of doing a fully supported machined, profiled spot facing where the sun gears thrusts (and the gears) sit, they have that semi-circular machining right the way around. They are OK for a while, but I've found that this lack of support does make the sun gears split - eventually. The problem is worse in a big wheel Moke. Although, if you want a stock style diff (ie non- LSD / ATB) they are about the best you're gunna get. Just change the internals every once in a while.

It's going in a 1370? stroker Moke running 10" wheels and a 3.44 diff, so should be OK then I guess.

Thanks guys. :D
