Post subject:  Hydro sag
Pops seems to have a bit of a lean to the left.

I'm not sure if you can see in the pic but he leans to the passenger side.

When I jack up the rear, the passenger trailing arm moves up and down, the drivers side is as stiff as......well....you know....it doesn't move.

Ideas??

maybe Pops is compensating for the driver :wink:

the Hydros are seperate circuits(left and right) I had the same problem either had to put up with it or go rubber cone :(

after getting sick of getting it toped up at $30 a pop I had it converted to the rubber cone setup and very happy with how "Taz" is handling now. :D

That means it's adjusted for us portly types.

If the RH trailing arm doesn't move it's seized on the shaft, or the knuckle joint has had it. Easy fix either way.
:idea: Has the car been greased since you got it??
If it's not lost fluid, the bags are fine. I'd convert to dry as a last resort. Already got a Deluxe that's been `done'- don't go there... :lol:

hmmmm.....I just crawled out from under him...... :?

I can't see any major probs with the suspension components. To be honest, it looks like the hydro on the passenger side has gone down, and the drivers side is still at the correct height.

It was pumped up recently to perfection.

Kev, :oops: I haven't greased Pops since I 'found' him......It's been on my MUST DO list, but I just can't find the time to do it! He doesn't get driven much anyways.

PS: I am this close " " to saying 'I'm sick of it all'...... :cry: :evil:

So why do hydro minis seem to sag at the front so bad?

Can this be adjusted out without discharging the system to shim?

They don't sag at the front really- what happens is the rear `helper' springs stretch, and so don't help pull the back down (and the front up).
Mine isn't sagged, it's done 140,000 miles or so and hasn't even had the knuckles done yet... :oops:
You would need to let the fluid out to swap the helper springs. But no big deal if you've got a pump. It's easier than working on dry suspension really. :wink:

OMG.. i was going to open a hydro thread today too..!!

Mo has had a few bashes (ie cruises) and now the hydro is "flat"

Is it possible (if there are no leaks) for the fluid to be "compressed". If fluid is not leaking, how does it ultimately need "topping up"

Biggest question... Kev do you still have your hydro pump..? May have to organise a trip over to yours with a 6 pack to get Mo back to normal ride height.... :wink:

so are these helper springs able to be re tensioned (is that the right description?)?

Or is it a case of buying new ones if they are available?
