Hi

I have a 72 clubman GT, body #1314

I am after some help in getting the original colours for the;

- carpet set
- engine block colour.

As these are fairly rare i havent seen too many others to compare with in NZ.

the car is jet red original colour with dark blue door trim/seats

I wrecked a Jet Red Oz GT once, it had black seats (early square embossed pattern) and black carpets. Not sure what year though.... I no longer have the compliance plate. And someone had put a Mk1 Cooper S block in it.

[edit] Early GT seats and side trim cards now in my wasaMatic:

I have Gt 16 after yours and it was Bold as brass with brown trim and black carpets.

Im not sure if blue carpet was available in GT's, i have only ever seen black and tan.

Im reckon it would have been black, for the carpet colour

Engine colour is the same as every other GT motor, the green colour (cant remember the exact name its the same as cooper s)

Also just because something may not be listed on those print cards does not mean it wasnt available. I have seen another Bold as brass GT and it had original black trim (even though it says on the cards they were not available in black).

Send TOZOOM a pm, he doesnt post much on here, but hangs around, he is at the moment doing a lot of investigation into the GT.

According to the Leyland Trim Handbook the GT carpets were Black or Kidskin, and the door pads and seats were Black, Kidskin, Navy, Cherry Red, Casino Blue, Chestnut or Antique Parchment. I don't have time to post the page at the moment.
The updated version says that head restraints came in at Body #1311.
