Ok so im looking at converting drums to discs, so i have a few questions. I currently have 12" centerlines on my car and am quite happy keeping them for the time being but i know i would like to go back to 10's later on down the track. What, where and how much are some kits going for? Im not after second hand but at the same time not after the bees knees. Just want a good reliable conversion kit. Cheers Peter |

Go the best you can afford. You will have forgotten how you paid for them 3 months after you bought them but you will be eternally grateful that you did. |

If wanting to use 10" in the future - then 7.5" discs are what you will want. All the usual mini suppliers do kits.... Calipers change in quality and so will the price, and you will need to upgrade your master cylinder too if you want it to work properly and as was said earlier your rear brake wheel cylinders too. Swivel hubs cv's, it's not as bad as it sounds but will cost in the vicinity of $1500 all up if you do the work yourself. Kits are all priced similar for the front disc kits which include the swivel hubs cvs etc the extras (master cylinder wheel cylinders etc ) add u the costs |

If you are going for 7.5 cooper s discs get genuine AP calipers |

any reason why only use ap 7.5 calipers weve sold heaps of kits with the aftermarket calipers and not had one problem at all just be aware of hub quality these days, as we now only use genuine hubs in our kits cheers josh miniimports |

Got this quote on 05/09/2012 from minispares uk C-AJJ4028 - BRAKE CONVERSION TO ORIGINAL 7.5"DISCS AS PER COOPER "S" 468.13 GBP Postage to Aus 105.61 GBP This is the kit with the AP calipers. Comes in at under 900 AUD at the moment. They quote the weight at 22.915Kg. You can go onto their site and see their postage per kg figures |

It cost me 127.90 GBP in freight when I got my disc brakes from mini spares, so total price was just under 600 GBP. |

thought i might tac on here if no one minds i am currently looking at this kit http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-par ... embly.html i had a look on the aussie minisport site and they arnt on there for some reason. what i am wondering is about the drive shafts, i know there were several different types of uni joints over the years, i have a '77 leyland LS 998 atm and im looking at getting a 1275cc engine soon so, i know you get a new section of the drive shaft with this kit, will it fit onto any drive shaft or only ones with certain uni joints? i think that made sense
