Post subject: | EFI Temp gauge |
Hi, just wondering where the water temp gauge reads from on EFI Rover Mini? Gauge has stopped working. There is a twin wire sensor in bottom of manifold which must also be coolant temp sensor for ecu. Any help appricated.. |

Same sensor does the ECU and the gauge. The gauge gets its signal reading from the ECU. Whats the gauge doing? The voltage stabiliser on the back might have gone, but if the cars running poorly then it could be the sensor. |

Thanks for your help. Car is running a bit rich. Temp gauge is dead, fuel gauge is working. Sounds like i should replace sensor.. Cheers |

The MEMS unit will go into "lip home mode" (ie run rich) if it has a problem. I'd double check the wiring from the temp sensor in the inlet manifold to the MEMS unit, then see if I can get the car on a diagnostic display to check for fault codes. Maybe a dud temp sensor?? |
