With reference to some discussion on another mini chat item I was wondering how many other people are having issues with performance kits purchased from the UK.
Such as Supercharger and Twin cam heads.
I know my Eaton M45 kit has issues which seem to be common to other aussie installed kits but I have never found any items in the UK mini magazines which reference the poor idling when stop start in traffic?

Well the Eaton M45 Supercharger kits seem to have a major issue if using an HIF44 Carby, they dont idle after a run along the freeways and they have a big hesitation when taking off from stopping at an intersection due to fuel pooling in the carby base.
I have sorted out most of the above issues by fitting a heating element around the inlet tube which seems to work as I think it causes the fuel to remain vapour due to teh heat and therefore it is sucked into the engine? Normally the inlet tube is very cold, hence the heat. The only down side with this method is the inlet charge is heated and therefore causes pinking at certain engine rpm and loads.
I would recommend fuel injection if going down the supercharger path as you would then have more control over the incomingfuel

I have 2 new needles to try in my kit michael, found one that came with the kit a BEJ (Not sure what was already installed) and ordered a BDD - metro turbo apparently, what is in there at the moment is no good. I am trying to avoid injecting at this stage as it seems we are the only ones who are having issues. I cant find a single UK person who has had dramas.

I think our high humidity is an issue in aus as I spoke with Stuart Gurr and he said condensation was only an issue over 70 percent which unfortunately is quite common in Sydney

I have an SC12 suck-through setup on a HIF44 and suffer the same idling issues after a freeway run. In general, the car is less 'drive-able' and requires more knowledge of it's quirks to prevent stalling/bogging it down etc.

I have to say, I love the added torque when going hard... but the car really is a bit of a pig around town. I have considered fuel injecting it, but I think I'm leaning back towards a fuel-injected 7-port N/A option. The A-series gearbox just isn't a fan of all that torque (I've stripped the layshaft twice under heavy acceleration). :?

not sure who is telling you there is no problem?

I see every few weeks on a forum about vmaxs kits & the same very problem over& over & over.

thats why originally i bought the sc12, now we are making a new kit.

well ben is :) & it's going to kick some but.

the vmax kit is flawed & the guy really needs to fix it.

look around on the mini forum or turbo minis, you soon find many threads about it.
