By your ID plate the car is a Leyland Mini S where 022 - Leyland Mini S A - Leyland Mini or Van in manual trim 2S - 2 door sedan 2 - Medium trim level ie Mini S M10 - 1098 cc engine 544 - Build number which started at 501 which means your car is number 44 off the production line. The vehicle name changed from Morris Mini Clubman body index 021A2S2M10 to Leyland Mini S body code 022A2S2M10 on 1 March 1973 to comply with British Leyland requirements for all vehicles to bear the Leyland name and the dropping of all other names such as Morris. I have been researching this infromation for all Oz built Minis and will be publishing the same very shortly. |
