Hi guys,
I refitted a headlining that was what I pulled out of the Cooper S when I stripped it.

Apparently its the wrong one...
What is correct for a Mk1 Cooper S 1968.

First Pic is what is fitted.. And I pulled out.

2nd Photo came out of 1970ish Mini K

3rd photo is out of my Leyland mini

I believe there is a 4th style. ( Early) does anyone have an original hoodlining from a car dating early 1968

I believe you are supposed to have no.3

I thinki newton commercial reproduce this pattern, not sure how accurate it is though.

No 2 is clubman and GT and mini k and i believe mk 2 cooper s

I wouldn't think #3 would be correct, it is a later used material, like Brett said it is in his Leyland Mini.

The correct one is the one out of your 1100
I may know where to get some. It is not made in the off white and will have to be re-dyed to be white.

PM me if you are interested

Yes, This is the correct one. My late (Nov Dec?) 68 S still has the same one. It kind of has a wood-grain pattern.

Interestingly the pattern of the visors with the little swirls is what they used in the UK for the headlining also, ie they matched.

In aus they must have sourced a local fabric for the headliner but maybe continued to get the visors from the UK.

My 3/70 car had those same swirly pattern visors, no idea what the roof lining was though as it had none.

Sorry Panther Steve your right, No 3 is definitely not right.

I dont know what i was doing when i wrote that, I have no idea. I meant no. 4 (I cant count, sorry)

I thought Newton commercial remade it, but i had a look and could only find the cream crackle style.

The particular pattern you are after was also used in deluxe's

Sorry about that.

Brenton

Has anyone tried the SA minisport one. Is it a reasonable reproduction?
