I just want to know the year and a few other details.
Type: YMA2S4
Car number: 1889
Engine number: 99H119/----
What I've figured out so far is it's a 998cc, automatic (no park), appears to have an original red vinyl floor mats, speedo is MPH, hydro suspension.

Early series 998 Matic (Mini deluxe speedo style). Later ones with the K binnacle with oil & temp gauges like mine were a YA2S5.
Engine prefix is correct for both early and late ones.

Yep, Mk1 MiniMatic.
Production started very late in 1967 for release in early 68. They only made a couple of thousand before the change to the Mk2 in the middle of 69.

Which way to the wipers park? (square wiper motor or round wiper motor?) that will give a bit of a clue because they changed in the middle or 68.

Round wiper model.

What's the best way to figure out the year of this car and month if possible?
Also I noticed the drive shafts are universal joints, I've never seen this type of "CV" on a mini before. Is this a special thing to the matics?

There is no real accurate way of working out the month but I can take a rough guess based on what we know about production. They started very late in 67 (some say January 68 ) and they changed from the square wiper motor to the round wiper motor in the middle of 68. So we know for sure it was built in that 6 month period of the first half of 68, knowing a bit about how many they built in total your numbers work out closer to the middle of the year, just before the change of wiper motors. (my Cooper S was the second last one with the square wiper motor!)

The uni joints are the correct ones for the matic. They are the same as the Cooper S uni joints.

I see this joint being much much better than the pot joints or the rubber uni joints.
They are more compact/neater, dry so they don't need a sealed rubber boot, and they also look much cheaper. Are their any draw backs to these compared to the other joints?
And here's some more pics;

Crumpled sill.

Top dash rail deformed.

See where the hydro line guard is and how far back the firefall is, and this is the better side  .

The U/Js inside them are cheap to replace, sure, but the 2 drive yokes are expensive new, so is the drive flange and diff output shaft if needed.
Apart from autos they were only used on Cooper S AFAIK, so they didn't make millions like they did the rubber U/Js and pot joints.

They are stronger than a pot joint.

I like em, I use on both my motors/cars.

Apart From The Mini Matic & Cooper S This Type of uni was also used on The Mini Moke
