Just had a set of GT Rostyle's finally arrive.... As expected they are in "good used condition" ... Can anyone recommend places that will fix these up ? (Sydney / Illawarra / Canberra areas) Just everyday knocks (so edge of rim not truly round and if not restoring wouldn't worry me). One has a bit of bigger ding in it / slight tear (but still nothing major). So basically looking for a true up of the outer edges..... Seems the "good place" in Canberra is no more.... Cheers. |

There is an old guy in Bowral that seems to be able to true-up 10" rims. I dont have his direct contact details any more but Adam or Wayne at Mittagong JAX Tyres should be able to put you in contact. |

Hi Ken, I had Ian Stewart at Berco put my SS mags in the lathe and clean the edge up on them a couple of years back. I think it was only about $10 per wheel. Cheers, Simon |

Steelies are harder to fix than mags are, if outer rim's bent. Usual method was to drill the spot welds out, fit a new outer and reweld the centres in. The outer rim is a 4.5J x 10, this size outer is peculiar to the Cooper S, Clubby GT and Clubby S. When I was in the wide wheels biz years ago these were unobtainium here, may be different now. All we could get then were 3.50B x10 (which were made in Adelaide). |
