That'd probably be one of those **cough, cough** Qld Clubman Rovers then. Heard about them but never seen one...

woops, not with that early car body ID plate... that's NOT a 1971 vintage compliance plate (either roundy or clubby).

The compliance plate looks about right for a 1971 Aussie...

It isn't Aussie though. And I have NFI what a 1971 English mini is supposed to look like. could it have been bought over from kiwi land?

no quarter vents, no exposed hinges and the larger back window.

mark 2/3? I think the lights are earlier. has a rear fog light too.

I don't know how you guys pick these things. Is it the repeater? Looks to be in the wrong spot. I thought they were just above the wheel arch.

We had a 'honest' mini mechanic up here in the western suburbs of Brisbabe that would re-mask an import as a clubby with a roundy front put on. Change of plates. The same guy in the 80's would cut and shut Jap imports including many RX7s.
And those that befriended him allowed it to happen.
Happy days.

It is in the wrong spot. Everyone can see its mk3 onwards, the give aways are for its decade are:

Washer bottle bracket on driver side inner guard.
No radiator shroud on body.
Original body number plate still on slam panel - just painted over.
Mid 80s heater and centre switches (eg brake fail light).

Out of curiosity, a couple of days back I asked the seller for some details, and this is what I got back.

I have been asked a lot of questions about this, the mini has been reshelled with a later body by the previous owner.

At least he is attempting to be straight up when asked, although this reshelling info is something he ought have put forward in his original listing?

Thanks for the numbers Davo.

The ID plate is from a 1966 Mini Deluxe.
The Motor is from an Austin Metro.
The car is?
