Post subject: | Auto into manual subframe |
Has anyone modified a manual subframe to take a auto engine? I have a very bent auto frame but a good auto engine so I want to try and make something that works as the factory intended. |

I would be tempted to straighten the bent auto one... or else cut the sides out and weld them into a manual one. There is quite a difference in width. The front rail is curved for clearance, but you could bend up a bit of RHS tube or pressed channel to replace that. |

I've seen it done, but it looked like a total hatchet job. Better to start with an Auto subframe IMHO. Even a Rover one can be adapted to an Aussie Mini. Cheers, |
