Just wondering if someone could tell me, the metal backing strip that gets welded to mudguard flange, does it go on top or under the flange/lip? I'm taking the crappy screwed on (incenti?) flares off my Rover and fitting the Cooper s type flares. |

hijacking this thread a bit, My leyland has pretty dodgy flare backings...I had to bend them back abit at the corners for rust repairs too. I want to flare up my mini with something more "sturdy" than the usual leyland S flares anyway, cos I reckon they are flimsy as. Has anyone fibreglassed their own bolt on flares ?? I would do this because I feel that if I did a good job, I wouldnt mind drilling small holes into the body... I might actually just fibreglass over the top of my leyland ones, they are cracked anyway...then at least I will have the right shape to start off with and it will "improve" their stability. I want to add bolt spaces into them somehow, like this pic ![]() |

http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... .aspx|Back to shop yeah, somethiing like that, I would fibreglass my own so that they look a bit bigger and run smoothly down the front to the bottom of the apron, not just end abruptly like they do in that pic. |
