Anyone fitted one of these R/H plastic tanks?

The supplied strap seems to fit better on the left hand side of the tank seam (looking from the back of the car). It doesn't appear to fit as snug on the right hand side of the seam, where an original strap would fit (on the filler neck side of the seam).

The spong pad that sits under the tank, did you sit the seam on it or did you fit it next to the tank seam? (left or right of the seam)
