Hey guys I have had a problem lately of noise similar to that of front cv knocking whilst driving.

Initially it was purely around corners now is in a straight line and substantially worse.

I figured yep it was cvs until I took the wheels off.. What I have found is my disc rotor on the right side has heaps of play back and forth when I grab it a move it in and out.

Here's two pics first of bad side then good side I noticed there is a big difference in where the outer cone washer sitsin the hub and next to the large nut btwn the two sides not to mention the gap u can see.... I'm going to try tighten the bad side up but I'm thinking something is rooted.

I'd bet the bearings have gone.
That nut is chewed up, the tapered washer too. You might be up for a new drive flange and CV as well if it's worn the splines..

:D Thanks doc looks like I'll have to send her in. Get it done properly was going to try myself but might pay to be on the safe side.

That bad side dose look like it's had more abuse than the good side and is it missing the split pin?
It may be worth the peace of mind to get both sides checked and re-newed if need be, at least then you know their condition is about the same.

Pulled the split pin out mate yeh I have considered both getting done. And am unsure why the right one looks rooted Compared to the left both were done about 25000 clicks ago.

It'll b sorted tomorrow heading to Mini Classic pretty solid on the short notice
