Probably in the books somewhere but what is the turning circle of a Mini (and a Moke if it's different) ?

The turning circle on big wheel mokes is bigger as they have limiters on the racks to stop the wheels rubbing on full lock.

Vans & estates also have a bigger turning circle due to the 4" longer wheelbase.

<edit> beaten to it

handbraking results in a smaller turning circle

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but don't the later Rovers have a tighter turning circle than say, the aussie cars? I know my 88 rover has a tighter turning circle than our 850, yet when the rack died in the 850 a reconditioned rover unit went in and now it can turn much sharper.

Yes the Mk2 onwards UK racks including Rover do turn tighter, they have about another 1/2 turn of steering wheel travel (ie there are more teeth on the rack).
However, these racks are no longer made in UK, they are built in China now and are rubbish quality (compared to the Oz made racks).
They are a cheap, throwaway item, no serviceable parts inside.
Even some of the importers admit to me they are crap, but it's all they can get.

If you buy one and it fails in warranty, take the bastard back!!!

Thanks for that - now is the measurement inside wheel - outside wheel or midline?

I have always understood it to be the width required to turn between kerbs, ie. to clear the outermost body or bumper corner.
