Just picked up a set of clubman seat with the headrest fully extended... How do you get them down?

I know it seems a stupid question but they seem locked and have a screw at the rear of them![/u]

Hey guys....

anyone? Thought clubman headrests could be slid up and down? These are REALLY pulled out and will not go back in..

Thanks

Here's a couple of shots of it up and down , they must have had a click/lock type system as you adjusted them , and it looks like you'd have to strip the seats to fix them.

Remove screw, give it several good whacks with your hand and it should slide down. Note that if pushed all the way down the metal post will stretch the covering on the back of the seat.

Some model seats had a small stainless steel tag that was screwed to the seat under
the trim and then screwed to the head rest stem, The reason they did this, they kept having trouble with the head rest staying up and would fall down ,
meaning that in most cases it was as good as not having a head rest,
So If Your seat has a metal tag and it is screwed to the head rest that is
normal for that model seat,

Sounds like the seats in mine. Within the frame of the seat there is a small flexible metal tube covered in plastic. It squeezes up against the headrest rail, which keeps it in position. All I needed to do to fix the problem was turn the tube 180 degrees, which put an unused new portion of the plastic up against the headrest rail. Now headrest stays where you want it.
