 Post subject: Clutch Housing Breather

The later Minis have a breather on the clutch housing. What does it do? Does it just ventilate the clutch housing? The link below explains why Pommy motors leak so much oil and how to go about fixing it.

The breather is actually from the gearbox/rear of block, the area above the primary gear.
It is there because later 1275s don't have the side breather like an S etc does.
If you decide to drill it out, take it off the car first.. PM me if you want to know why... :oops:

I mean any 1275 that's got a solid back wall, no tappet covers- ie 1100S onwards including LS and A+ motors..
