Greetings all. Went to Mini's at the Mill yesterday. What a hoot! Anyway, It was a hot day (bloody hot) A couple weeks back I was trying to track down a fault in my ignition. Sure enough, half way through the Adelaide hills it started to backfire and died. Wriggled the fuse and it seemed to go for a while. Did this every couple of miles. Put a new fuse in. Seemed good on the way home, then trouble again. Mmmmmmmmmmm.....fuse box? Put a new one in tonight. Ahhh..... still stops after a couple hundred yards. I'm thinking it's gotta be the coil. I put in a set of those electronic points a couple months back. Was running the GT40 coil that came with the car. What is the best suited coil to buy? I new believe it was the coil all the time. Some coils have a R rating (resistor?) Alex. |

Standard gold Lucas one will be fine. Are you running points still? Check your points gap. And condensor. You'll be sorted for 60 bux and have a good ignition for the next MATM. Great to see your car up there. And congrats on the trophy win! |

Thanks willy. I'll grab one today. It was a great day. Had to leave it in my sisters shed at Clarence Park, as I wouldn't have made it up Darlington hill. It was in her yard, but I tried the fuse box, then put it in the shed due to the storm hail warning. And well done DA9jeff. Saw yours there. |
