Hi all,
Going through some parts and deciding what I use and what I don't.

The seat belts in my car are different to each other. Was this ever the case or is it likely that one of them has been changed?

Where all 1968 seat belts grey and the same?

Have any of you had trouble getting blue slips with old seat belts, there are no frays but they do look oldish.

Any help appreaciated :)

I think they are the same belts, except that the cheap plakky covers and belt tidy on (probably the Drivers side) has been removed/broken off :?

You are still using OE...45 year old seatbelts ???

They would be rotten & unsafe long ago.

That is not exactly what Dr Michael Henderson says.

Even though this is a little different in application, people who use webbings in abseiling are trained that they only have a 10 year life. Tests have shown that on webbings used or unused fall rapidly in performance after the 10 year mark  . And that is from a guy that has put many webbings through his test rig!!!

To be honest, seat belts or not I treat driving a mini like riding a motor cycle, the only viable outcome is to avoid the accident!

Compared to todays vehicals and size it's like riding in a tin can with wheels :D

There's a company in WA who can re-web original belts with modern webbing but retaining the original clasps. They list 20 different colours, including 3 greys.

pfft.... Keep the belts you have, if they are in good nick (photos dont always show reality). Its not like as if they will snap in accident....

My opinion and will save you a few dollars.
