Post subject: | Rear Exhaust Hanger Brackets |
Hi Guys and Gals Can anyone assist with some info on the rear exhaust brackets please. With the type for RC 40 etc is it used with different tailpile diameters or just the 1 3/4 for the RC40? Mine has broken a few times so I am going to make a new type of replacement that wont break in a hurry. In the process I am going to set it up so I can reproduce them for a couple of bucks a pop and in any quantity. Essentialy I need to knowthe different exhaust diameters to set up for. I might just go to the local exhaust shop and pick up some offcuts to cover the different ones. Also does the centre mount one that hangs on one bolt break as well? I can set up for that just as easily. As an aside, let me know if you are interested in getting one and what diameter. If it all works out I'll post here if I am going to make them and how much it would be. At this stage I'd say $5 posted to Aus.. If I only ever make mine that will be fine. ![]() Matt R I haven''t heard how you are getting on but I hope you are back on deck soon. |

I had thought of that. The one I will make though bolts on where the old one does, cost virtually nothing, and should last forever as well. One question about the rover ones is what goes on the exhaust pipe. I gather the rubber loop goes down and there is another wire that gets welde on the exhaust? Anyone got a photo handy of one installed? Thanks |

here's what I did with mine a few years ago - you're probably making much the same thing... I welded a rod (and a stiffener plate) through an old mount, and welded the other bit to the exhaust ![]() works well, except that the rubber thingys perish - the ones I bought must be crap rubber, or don't like the heat - my exhaust came off completely in the first test of a motorkhana a couple of weeks ago. I finished the test and then went back and picked it up. I ran the car up onto my mates trailer and put it back on with some tie wire, still won the day ![]() |
