Post subject: | value of my mini k? |
Hi all, it's been a while since I have been on here. I would really appreciate some opinions on how much my car is worth, as I am considering selling it to a viewer on the weekend. details of the car - YGS21 - Mini K not sure of the age -1967 or 1969 I think. It's in good condition but is off the road, stored in a garage on axle stands, as it is not being driven. Its originally a mini k but has been painted to be a cooper with grille, two spare fuel tanks ( one spare for each side), minilites, wider tyres, arches, rear seat belts, full driving spots, immobiliser and the engine is the 1098 series bored another 100cc with twin carbs and it has a quick release bonnet. No rego. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also have two spare tanks, one for each side ![]() any help on value would be great. Condition wise there is a spot of rust on the nearside front wing (about 2cm patch), and the roof has some tiny surface rust spots where the paint job might have been a little thin! thanks in advance for any help you can give. I don't really know where to start. |

Current market I'd say 4-6 k, but over 5 would need a little work, but surprisingly not much. Having rego would help if it doesn't need much. Maybe get rid of the driving lights, the appearance would be much closer to original and that gives it a slight value boost I think. |

No headrests came in a Mini K. That drivers seat is from a Clubby (which came after). |

![]() As the Doc has pointed out the drivers seat is from a Clubman and I reckon the difference in colour is due to that seat having been sprayed to try and match it to the colour of the other seats which look original. |

Following on from Simon and Lillee I think you must get it off the stands and cleaned up. If I was a prospective buyer I would pay less for it as it stands as I could not road test it. Who knows what things like the suspension, steering, brakes, clutch and engine are like ![]() The grille it has is a standard fitment Mini K item so don't talk about it as a Cooperising addition, you may just look like a knob (not saying you are of course) In my opinion the paint job doesn't make it look like a Cooper either, it just has a white roof and bonnet stripes. Mini K's weren't made until '69 so if it doesn't (or rather hasn't had) have a "compliance" plate then it will be a '69. Cheers Steve |

thanks all, especially the heads up about the grill. I don't want to break the car for parts as yet, but I will keep the offer in mind thanks ![]() I was cleaning it up just now and the front seat is a slightly darker shade, there you go eh! I was going to start it up, but the abttery is dead, so tried charging it and no luck, sigh ![]() |
