Post subject:  Classic mini doors on leyland clubman?

Hi all,
Owned my clubman for about three months, just thinking about things I wish to do to it in the future.
Is it possible to put complete early mini doors on a '73 clubman? By early mini I mean sliding windows, pull down levers and seemingly 'empty' door shells... Are they the same dimensions? (I think they are?) Any assistance is appreciated, coming from a mitsubishi magna enthusiast background I can understand how annoying nooby questions can be ;)

You cant just change the doors because a leyland mini came with burst proof doors, a safety law ADR requirement so even if the doors were the same dimension (which i dont think they are??) and you changed the catch mechanisms you still wouldnt be able to.

The only hope you will have is changing the actual; wondows in a clubman door (that would be a lot of work)

the doors are the same dimensions, but yeah... ADRs and all that

you could get an 850 shell and put a square nose on it though ;)

B pillar is different for the `burstproof' (not!) latches, would take some fabrication or additions there to fit 850 doors.

doors are not the same dimentions, as Doc said the "B" pillar is different & so is the door accordingly

i did this job years & years ago & it was pretty straight forward, but obviously i didn`t bother changing over the handle & catch mech... i liked the flush look "WITH" the sliding windows

:-)

Edit-->,,, ok so the sliding windows are sooo clean in that pic that you can`t see them :-)

sorry... try this pic???

Edit again--> ok here`s another one then :-)

ah well the colour was taken/matched from girlfriend of mine`s nail-pollish so i`m sorry but we made it from nothing to "look" like the nail-pollish she was wearing

it`s "VERY" close to a particular VW factory golf colour actually if that helps you
