Hi all, as I have said I am new to the mini scene and have just bought my first clubbie which is currently undergoing a bit of a rebuild. I have just been on a bit of a shopping spree at Supercheap and now am the proud owner of a new wheel and stereo which is a long overdue upgrade for my baby. It took me a couple of days to figure out how to remove the old stuff and hopefully installation will be easier.MP3, Bluetooth, Big bass, 6 x 9's all the bells and whistles. Question is what to do with all the old stuff. The PO told me it was original and I dont want to just throw it away if it is worth anything. Anyone know? ![]() ![]() |

If the stuff pictured is the stuff you picked up from Supercrap then I'm going to get some tomorrow. ![]() If the stuff pictured is the old stuff you've just taken out I see a school boy error. ![]() Keep hold of it. Just like 13 inch wheels one day you'll see the error of your ways and want the original stuff back. The stereo look amazing. You know you can keep the original front and get modern guts put in the back of it. |

Hi and thanks for all the responses. I caught Mrs Main Wheel with them on the way to the rubbish bin so I guess I am lucky. The radio works fine but with only one speaker under it in that housing thingy it sounds so tinny I figured it was just worthless junk. The badge in the middle of the steering wheel looks as good as new so I am assuming the wheel is not very old and so not original and therefore pretty much worthless??? I am not sure about the 'schoolboy error' as the stuff I got from supercheap is pretty good for a very reasonable price, however I will hang on to the radio for a bit and I might see if supercheap have a modern speaker to replace the original with and not sound so tinny and then decide whether to sell or not. Sorry if my first post came across as a little naieve as this is my first older car...well older than a 1995 hyundai excel anyway! Thanks again fellow Ausminiers. I guess you never stop learning. |

From what can be seen of the steering wheel that woud have to be one of the best around, definitely worth keeping, or if you don't want it pass it on to some deserving soul (not me, I don't need it). definitely not for the bin. as for the radio, whether keeping or selling leave the original speaker where it is and don't bother about a replacement. The operative word in this whole issue is original, that means don't mess with it, don't modify and definitely don't bin it. Cheers Steve |
