I need some more advice on painting , my question is do use prepsol on the primer/surfacer coat after you have sanded of the guide coat before the base colour coat ?
As i was thinking your not supposed to get any moisture on primer as it absorbs it ?

Thanks in advance
Bill

I thought the idea of prepsol was to get grease/dust off the surface. It is mainly thinners so evaporates pretty quick.

Prepsol is used to clean the panel of any contaminants before painting so yes you must apply it before your base coat. The idea is to wipe it on wet with one cloth then wipe it off with a second dry cloth, it's critical that you wipe It off as it will contaminate the paint if you paint over it.. Similar look to silicone...

Your not meant to use it on filler before you undercoat it as it softens it.

that's interesting, you've probably solved a problem I've had, I thought it was silicone so I tried to clean it with more prepsol.
