do you think it is necessary to go anything more then the std type?

slotted groved etc?

my mini has the normal type rotors, they are warped & i just rebuilt everything else!

the normal rotors pull up fine for a road car?

if you think using the std type where is the cheapest pair?

I have a pair of 8.4" rotors coming in my order from Karcraft this week, I found them to be a good price.

As to if they are better than slotted etc sorry can't answer that, this is my first mini with disc's

I like the look & the principle of slotted rotors, and will buy some if the std solids ever wear out.

The standard discs have lasted well on a fast road mini & seen numerous track days & hillclimbs. Car has a 1430cc engine & 13" wheels with semi slicks.

Grooved rotors wipe gas and debris off the face of the brake pads, and a bit of the pad itself, so the pads will wear faster (offset by reduced brake fade)

I'd go slotted (vented?) rotors, STD on the swift Gti and the brakes never get really hot. Buy them from a reputable source though (DBA if you can get them) as a fair bit of R&D goes into the bridging between the slots for increased performance.

The question you really have to ask is will you ever achieve the temps to warrant the extra cash? They don't increase stopping power; rather they lengthen the time it takes to lose that stopping power on the track.

How did you warp the last ones?
