Post subject:  Misfiring when cold - now wont start - milky in oil cap

Hey all, so im assuming its pretty damn bad. Perhaps a blown head/headgasket?

As I stated, misfiring when cold for about 20 seconds... as in its firing on only a couple of cylinders then they all kick in.

Today the car started but after being left off for twenty minutes it wouldnt start at all.
Under the oil cap there is milky sludge. What are the possible causes? Head gasket?

Recently serviced with gulf western by minisport, new radiator with coolant recently.

Thanks for your help!

How did the exhaust look? Lots of white smoke?

Try dropping the oil to see if its milky.

If it’s just the gasket that’s gone its shouldn't be too big a deal.

Under head cam makes it nice and easy

ah cool, hopefully its indeed just the gasket. Pretty busy recently so taking it to minisport in the morning.

Would the gasket alone make it not start due to wet pistons/spark plugs?

Thanks for the help buddy ;)

Yeah, was the gasket, but it had overheated at one point by the previous owners.
The head was stripped, sandblasted, crack tested, exhaust seats cut, welded corroded water ways.. new valve springs.. basically a small rebuild

There is a slight ticking coming from the engine when warm now, will have to investigate this.
