As far as I know the Cooper S and Auto diff out puts are the same part. A few things I want to know are;
What are they worth?
Where can I get some/dose anyone have a good set for sale (cheaply)?
Can they be installed in other mini diff cases/housings?
and can any parts of other mini diff out puts/drive shafts (like CV joints etc) be modified or used to repair or make replacement sets?

Cooper S or auto output shafts fit into any Mini diff centre.
Side covers are different, the bushes are 1/8" bigger diameter, so are the seals.
Some common non-S side covers have enough meat around their middle to be bored out for the S seal and bush.

Sorry, I run 2 sets of S unis but have no spare bits.

A bit of trivia,
The link pic is actually one from a Morris Minor tailshaft not a Mini. Its similar but not the same. IIRC the universal joint cross part is the same but not the flange or the sliding spline bits. Hopefully the pic is for illustrative purposes only.

i have some couplings & some flanges & some side-covers here Kenno,,, the correct bolts & the right collets for inside the flanges are also needed ,,, which i think i have here too,,, maybe :-)

the diff`s inner drive axle is different to std mini also,,, the "S" type take a bolt where-as the early std mini takes a nut & the late std mini is pot-joint type so just takes a rolled clip

if /when you`re down this way i can show you all of the systems together in one hit with all the right bits for all types

Sounds good Matt, are they for sale?
This is (if I go this way instead of pot joints) for my 1360 twinky engine which will also have a Quafie LSD, you don't have one of those lying around that you don't want/need do you Matt? :roll: .
