Monster Mini had 17s on her Monster Moke back in the day... i remember seeing a pic of about 4 or 5 mokes lined up near spit bridge and it went 10", 10", 12", 12", 17"...

Definately stood out...

Susan Boyle would stand out at a Victoria's Secret pagent too.

Some things don't always stand out for a good reason

Surely the ride would be very harsh with anything bigger than 13's or 14's .

The little buggers don't ride the best as they were in their standard trim .

I think the ride would be the least of your problems. Leyland didn't do much
to upgrade the car for 13's. What diff would get it moving off the line with big ass wheels? Extra force on the drive shafts? Unsprug weight? Extra lateral force on the wheel studs? Custom wheels to fit a 4" stud pattern? Ride quality? Cornering ability? :?

But each to their own. If you have your heart set on it go for it as none of these issues will matter

There is probably an advantage running 17" wheels.
On the front you can probably change the brake pads without removing the wheel.
On the rear you could probably reach though the wheel to get a spanner on the brake adjuster.

Ride quality?

Thats what i said .

I might be a bit old school , ( or just old in general  ) but from my experience with the 17's on my XR6 , they do not ride anything like the 15's that were on my old NA Fairlane , too low of sidewall , not enough cush :!:

Got me stuffed how some of these young blokes can ride around in their cars with 20" +
rims on them , would hate to be driving them interstate .

No feedback on your dimensions but buy the wheels and tyres dead at the end of your project. Yours tyres won't have aged and the wheel style will be current when you finally get them.
