and yes i no its 2005 but i mean my mini. does anyone know of a way to find out the year of it. im still not sure. my mate that gave it to me came over today and he said it could be a 1958-1959. thanks everyone and if you need any info just please ask. thanks. ps. it has push button start. im not too ure that the 64 came out with that. thanks everyone once again for your help :) .

Go get us some engine/body numbers, they're located on the compliance plate, or stamped into the firewall and/or on the radiator shroud...

8amuh is the engine number
Car number will be YMA2S1 ******* where ****** is the car number. That is assuming its an 850 as the engine number prefix is from an 850

It will probably be harder to read from a photo..

Look for YMA2S1 either on the firewall or radiator shroud...

it's an 850

if it's gut cutaways in the panel below the bumper, but hasn't got recesses under the wipers, then it's a '66/'67

OK mine- YMA2S1 57857- was built mid `64, so work back from there.
I'd say 1963.... :wink:

Hey Kev, my book puts yours as 12 / 64 delivery date? the other one (modified Mini) booked at 04/64. Not sure of engine number though, does not seem to match? is that the number on the plate?

My white mini's number is 23474... and its a '63.

That's narrowed it down a bit for ya :wink:

Mine had a full front valance, no cutouts, so I put build date around July or Aug 64?
Maybe it sat in a showroom... :lol:
