I personally believe that if your engine is overheating then you should be fixing the cause of the problem, not a band aid solution of magic coolant.
Lets say your radiator is blocked - this stuff still won't fix that!

I haven't tried it but was watching wheeler dealers last night on Foxtel and they were doing a Triumph TR6. I saw the "second episode" but in the first ep he did some work to the head and used waterless coolant to replace when putting it back together. They only mentioned it in the summary of what they had done to the car so I didn't hear his actual comments on it during the ep.

Looks too good to be true...just cause this stuff doesn't boil doesn't mean it isn't too hot for your engine.

What's the point in a 'boiling point' of 190deg when 100deg is too hot for your engine?

Boiling point of water is too much for your engine because you lose control of the ability to transfer heat from the iron to the coolant water as it steams off against the jacket or boils itself out of the system through the cap.

I could see it in an application where space was an issue, like the 6 litre chev in the RX7 race car on the site but for minis I doubt it. Clean the radiator and block and check the cap and thermostat first. It will cost less.

nowhere does he mention what the specific heat capacity of his snake oil is - this is the true indication of its ability to move the heat energy from the engine to the radiator, which is after all the function of the coolant. It is pretty hard to beat water for specific heat capacity - everything else is just to make sure you can get the heat into the water and out of it again .....

I also seen this on wheeler dealers seemed like a good product but quite expensive " Ed mentioned 90 Pounds sterling $150 approx" the biggest problem i see is the cost as one busted hose and you would have to do it all over again.

Also Ed mentioned that your engine had to be completely free of water/Glycol before you can put it in.

Saw the same episode yesterday and wondered the same thing..
Don't forget the time it would take to remove all the water from the system before you can even add the new coolant!

I was impressed by the fact that it can handle the heat of Goulburn...



I know they claim it is synthetic but I have never seen a synthetic snake before.

But how do you get the oil out of it?

Just the other week I get bailed up in the front yard by a black snake. I sent the wife to grab a rake while I stared it down. After a few tense moments I had it under control. It was plastic.
The bastard kid next door is throwing his toys over the fence again.

I wonder if it uses ethylene glycol as a base?

I knew an old bloke out new Grenfell that walked out to his letterbox to collect his mail, he dropped a letter and when he looked down to pick it up he realised that he was standing on a brown snake. He knew that as soon as he lifted his foot the snake would bite him so he just stood there for about 4 or 5 hours talking to the snake till his son came looking for him.
His son asked him what he was doing and he said "I'm just standing here talking to this snake"
His son said, "You won't get much out of him because I killed it yesterday!"

About the coolant. I am sure that there is potential in an nano coolant. To take it all the way you could probably do away with the water pump as well.
My concern is the way this one is being marketed as snake oil with all the usual snake oil selling tricks.

Uh huh. Ditto, not when the coolant system on our cars is well up to the task with a little care, even 50 years on.
