Check out this engineering pornography:

http://www.med-engineering.co.uk/catalo ... rocker-set

LD Version:

So anyone using these over the cheaper Minisport version? I have a set of minisport 1.3 roller tips now and these aren't much more expensive and seem like a better designed unit overall. Thoughts?

The first thing I notice is the "uprated" shaft. I would have thought a larger diameter shaft would mean more friction between the shaft and the arm, because of the greater surface area.

1.5 is pretty high.

Yeah I thought so too but I think they are full roller rockers which isn't necessarily a good thing, all of the weight and pressure is pushed onto a couple of roller pins instead of the entire bush surface area. By making the shaft bigger it could reduce the stress and spread it across more than 1 or 2 pins?

[EDIT] I stand corrected, they aren't full roller rockers, only roller tip.

1.5's is what I had originally in the car and want to go back for that extra top end power.

I'd like to know from anyone who has a set if

1) the ratios are uniform across all 8 rockers
2) if there is any play beyond 1 thou or so in the bushes themselves (ie. How good is the manufacturing fit and finish

Lillee,
I have been told by a bloke who bought (then immediately sold) some, that there are NO bushes in these MED rockers. See PM I sent you.

[edit] They are made from a pretty hard aluminium alloy, `maybe' bronze bushes are not needed??
The cams in my Fiat 124 sport ran direct in the alloy cam boxes, which didn't wear in the 250,000 miles I drove it for..

I never met somebody who had to tear an engine down because of side loading on valves......but know of at least two who had to because of disintegrating roller rockers....

How many sets of valve guides can you have fitted for the price of roller rockers?
