I was reading an issue of Mini Magic a couple of weeks ago and i stumbled across a Mr Bean mini replica,
Does anyone have any more information on said car?
I am interested in having a closer look at it / gathering more info.

I seen the real one parked in a back lot at Universal studios a couple of years back , neglected and unloved the tour guide could not understand my excitement but I talked them into taking me back at the end of the tour so I could get some photos.

There's a car round here that green and black lik the mr. bean car. Even has a (sticker) padlock on the side. Looks pretty good.

I saw the real one too. Parked in Beaulie motor museum, this one was good though.

@Awoody,
Any chance you can post / send me some pictures of the car if they are not hard to find?

I have been browsing the web to try and look for detailed shots of the interior and i have seen a few replicas but people add their own little bits and bobs.

In the BBC version its apple jack green with matt or gloss black hood?

@Harley,
I have never seen anyone use a sticker padlock before. I would go for the real latch and padlock in stainless steel.

Not sure if these are any help but the first ones are from 2007/2008 and the last is from 2011 (must be a different car). I see the progress on the first with the addition of the decal paddlock and the last one has a real padlock. Sorry, no inside shots.

Why not?

@flute
Cheers for the pictures. Is it me or does the pain look like lime green?
It does look pretty well done.

So it can be original and unique just like all the others.

The last one is definitely a different car - it's mine :D It's a 1961 850 and my first Mini that I got for driving around home when I was 12. It's certainly no where near the condition of the other 'Mr Been' Mini (you would've noticed at the 2011 Mini Expo by the rust and rough bog in the front guards). The car itself has had a very hard life, and the lime green is just another coat of paint over the various other layers. The interior is still in the original English Grey. It actually had wind-up doors and a different boot lid when Dad painted it for a Christmas present (after spending years in a paddock at my grandparents), but I changed it back to a set of sliding windows I came across. Amazingly I didn't have to paint them - the colours matched almost perfectly!

As for the lock on the door, it's held on with double-sided tape in the photo. I had one screwed on originally, but in reality it doesn't work. It gets caught when you shut the door and bends everything.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the whereabouts of the Mini with 'Mr Been' registration? I've never actually seen it myself. I've also wondered like danny_ where the car from Mini Magic is.

I completely agree! When I was twelve my dream car was a Mr Bean Mini, and since then I've become obsessed with any Mini.

On numerous occasions I've heard kids exclaim "It's Mr Bean's car!" on sight of a Mini even though it's no where near the colour of Mr Bean's.

I think the 'real' one is a softer green than hairy lime.

The MR-BEEN car lives in the SE suburbs of Melbourne - I think in the Berwick / Pakenham area somewhere.

Its a British colour obviously, whereas hairy lime was one of ours. I think it was "citron" a yellowy green.
