Just wondering are there 2 types of Mini seat with different hinge on the seat brack?

i.e.
#1 one which is a fixed hinge (means when you take the seat out you have to take the seat bracket out too.)

#2 Another one is that u take the seat out without taking the bracket out altogether since u can get the screw on the hinge out.

What Minis in which year has the #1 setup. An 850? How do you seperate this types' seat n bracket?

I think you may be talking about:

The common brackets used from about 62-76 or so (my dates are rough) are 2 brackets (per seat) that bolt onto the side of the seat cross member and the seats front legs slide into these brackets and are held in place by a bolt and wingnut. To remove the seat, unbolt and the seat removes and brackets stay there

The other main type are from 77/78 (maybe only 78 ) the actual seats have the brackets bolted attached to them and are not really removeable (the back one isnt atleast). The front brackets are sorta a triangular shape and have two bolts that bolt to the top of the seat cross member (for each of the front legs). The rear is a panel that curves down and sits on the floor and attaches to the other rear seat leg. The panel has 2 bolts goign through it into the floor.

These are the 2 main types (the 60/61 type are different again, but basically the same as the first style except the brackets are not removable they are attached to the crossmember)

I had a 61 mini with removable seat mounts.
Sounds like the sort of thing the early english and CKD cars had.
That'd have to be pretty rare here wouldn't it?

850s except the 60/61 cars had their 1 position brackets held to the seat frame with a rivet. Their brackets bolted into the front of the X-member as usual.
If you want to use these seats with the later Deluxe etc 3 pos'n brackets, just grind the rivet off and bin the old bracket.

Oh NO, don't bin them. I'll happily swap a set of later 3 hole adjustable brackets for a set of riveted non adjustable. Need a set for my 1962 Cooper.

There is yet another style of bracket which fits between the timelines of the 2 brackets you have shown. Similar to the 3 hole adjustment but with only one hole (ie no adjustment) which is riveted to the seat frame and bolts onto the floor crossmember like the later you you've shown.

Yeah Bubba these were the first Australian seats, the previous tube framed ones were UK design.
I think the Oz ones started in 1962.. My `61 had the UK ones.
I recently made a set of 4 tube frame brackets for a board member as these are NLA.

yo...i got the brackets out...grind it all out but the atupid rivet or bolt...watever u call it still in the way / hole....its like a cylinder thibgy inside the hole. Drill it out or wat?

It's stuck in the seat frame?
It's a 1/4" diameter steel rivet.
Grind 1 side of it off flush until with the frame, then punch it out with a hammer and a 6mm pin punch.
