Hi, I am converting my 70' mini-matic to manual and need guidance on cutting the hole for the remote change gear-stick, I don't want to butcher my floor and cut the hole in the wrong place! and not keen on installing the engine/gearbox only to cut the hole then remove again for the spray-job, if you know what I mean. Is there any templates, or measurements any one can give, I.E width from doors, or firewall. width length of hole. any help appreciated.

Will be installing an 1100S with 4 synchro box, and remote shifter, Hardy spicer driveshafts from the matic.

Thanks.

Why not borrow an old remote box and extension, sit it in there with 2 engine mounts on and you can not only see where the hole goes, but position the rear mount bracket in the tunnel.
