Hi i just aquired a 160KPH Speedo and wondered what model was fitted with it. its a centre binnacle.

Probably a late Moke speedo, if calibrated to suit the final drive then I love these for minis :D

If its like this one " except this a 140 kph " hopefully this will fit a standard mini , is this out of a moke as well ?

I read somewhere that the "Cooper" not "Cooper S" came with a 100MPH/160KPH Speedo, but when they were released in early 60's Kilometres were a long way off, so doesn't add up.

The Cooper in Imperial countries like England and Australia came with a 100 mph speedo.
In metric countries like France and Italy they would have come with a 160 kph speedo.
Australia didn't get imperial/metric on the speedos till about 1972 before going to full metric in 74.

Thanks Morris 1100, your a bit of a wizard for years and numbers, is there any identifying speedo part/serial numbers that define models?

That's a Moke one. Same as I put in Barney, it is spot on in a Mini with 10" wheels and a 3.647 diff.

There is another Moke one looks the same but with `800' (=turns/km) on the front, it's pretty close with a 3.44 diff and 10" wheels. I have one going into the van.

Awesome thanks Doc , i have no idea what my dif ratio is but im definately sticking with 10" wheels " they give the car more mininess :-) "
