I have this type of carb and the part where it say arrive is what i have. Im wondering what air filter i need to get to go on that connection. I have another carby but that has the circular one that gets mounted directly rather than the 90 degree angle piece and i tried mucking around with it today however the area it needs to go into is not large enough.

Also the engine is running a little rough. It is fine at idle, will sit there as long as you like idling away however when you accelerate it coughs and splutters and occasionally stops. Does this mean the carb needs a tune or is it to do with timing?

Thanks in advance and hopefully i can sort this problem out soon :D

You need a filter for a hs4 carb, also you can remove that large aluminium piece and run a filter directly off it. Have you thought about refurbishing the carb? I asked dr mini about where these carbs wear out, you could pm him or go to this link

Simsy is this a photo of your carb or a similar one.

Best post a photo of yours and check the diameter of the body.

In how to there is a topic about how to identfy different types of carburettors

http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53394

Have a look there and confirm what type it is before buying bits or before asking too many more questions about it.
