As above, do they have a part number / ID on them?

How do you identify one?

Thanks.

If you are talking the rear pressure limiting valve (it is NOT a bias valve) the valve is the same as all the common Oz Minis (with single line MC), only the spring is different.
There is really not a lot of difference in the limiting pressure between models, these days if you have one that still works, use it.
I'd like to fine some repair kits though...

You can convert them all to be limit adjustable, I did one for Mini_Mad a while back.

i`ll double check but that`s what i remember them to be

SSB602 & SSB603 were the kit numbers from memory

i`ll do my homework before i open my big gob any further tho :-)

So I'll try to post the part number that's on mine tomorrow. You would think BMC would put a different part number on the limiting valve if the internals were in fact different? Any one have a reference book with a part number to confirm this. Unless I pull a few apart to look at spring lengths you don't know what you have...

From PUB1038 Mini K parts book-
Mini K limiting valve assembly is 4313/755
repair kit is SSB802

Sorry I have no listing on the S one.

However when Karcraft sold the Lockheed repair kit (now NLA) there was only 1 kit. I believe only the internal spring was different.

A Cooper S Valve will have two (2) grooves machined into the round section of the main body Non Cooper S will have no grooves at all, The diff between them is the spring tension

Thanks Kev and John for the good info. That will all help.

Cheers.

The parts books confirm what John said above (did anyone doubt it!) although there's no mention of the rings on the body to identify the two types.

The MK II Mini parts book (PUB 1056M) and the Mini Clubman parts book (PUB 1052) show the same part numbers for the body, plug, plunger and washer for all Minis, but the spring for the Cooper S/Clubman GT is part 3111/671 (400 - 450 lbs) and for other models part 3111/673 (350 - 400 lbs).

The valve repair kit doesn't contain a spring so it's the same for all models - part SSB802.

I crawled under my MK II Cooper S's to take these. Can't see any obvious rings (except around the flange under the big nut) but maybe someone else can.
