What is the 1/4 threaded hole in the block heading towards the oil pump? Don't remember taking anything out.

Don't worry about it, its not used for anything. It actually bottoms out at about an inch and a half.

It is actually for a sump securing bolt when the Block is used in a conventional set up (North , South) with the gearbox behind the engine,
