Guys Worked on many cars and done may bits, but never taken a mini engine out through the bonnet! So looking for some recommendations on the best methods and steps. Thanks |

Doogie has the following article in the howtos: http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45377 The auto isnt much different. Just disconnect the selector cable first. This can done from within the car. The selector cable is normally a pain to disconnect from the gearbox so just leave it. What are you doing with the auto? |

Because the box is bigger on an auto there will be less clearance for lifting and moving it around, make sure you have something to protect the bodywork. Remove everything you can too - like alternator and starter motor, radiator if you can. |

Yeah, Autos are a bit tighter to get in and out. Especially late ones with the park switch on the front. |

Sure it does. I had a MiniMatic and a hydro Clubby (with 1310S motor)- one day I drained the hydros, lifted both bodies and did a swapsie. Easy peasy... |
