Has anyone converted their van doors to gas struts?

Can't be too hard, people have put struts on bonnets. Wouldn't need to be a big strut at all either.

The problem I see is that the doors open up 90 degrees. A bonnet opens up to about 45 degrees.
I cant really see the advantage of having struts anyway. :?

positioned correctly, you'd be able to make them pull the door shut as well as push it open

The only reason I am considering it is because one of the original stays to hold the door open is missing and I don't want the door to flap about in the wind.

Should be plenty of them floating around? I know of a few, just not handy right now.
