Post subject:  Subframe Welding

So I'm about to get my subframes to a blaster.

I often hear about people welding up the towers on a subframe for added strength. This raises a few questions.

Is it only the tower to weld or are there other places?
Does the rear subframe need any strengthening?
Is it ok to get them welded before blasting?

just stitch weld along the overlaping areas, not apply to much heat into the welds
u can do after blasting dont go nuts they dont often break just check the bump stop area its usually cops a beating , u will need a small press to bend them back to flat

Yeah at the top of the towers its only been welded as much as was seemingly neccessary, ie not a complete weld.
Mine actually managed to crack.
Just touch it up with a complete weld around the tower top and you will be all gravy.
