I was going to buy the top one for mine but decided not to... As I was told the fit was very poor. Don't know anything about the second one, so no help there. ![]() I bought this one for mine: http://www.minisport.com.au/prod341.htm Fit is good... Only had to cut the gear shift hole and the box shape out of the side pieces for the seat tunnel.. Been in the car since may 2010 still looks like brand spanking new!! And she's seen a few miles!! |

I put a moulded set in Oscar when I built him up back in '84. They are surviving well, but he's only travelled 50-odd thousand miles since! The fit is too loose over the centre tunnel forward of the gearstick. Been meaning to pack it up underneath with deadener for the last 30 years........... Interestingly I reckon I paid about 120 bucks all those years ago, so they haven't gone up very much in price!! |

I bought a clip set and later found out you need to drill holes in the floor to rivet one side of the clip to the floor and I wasn't gonna drill rust free floor pans. The rear section was coated in sound deadening paint then an underlay kit from minis port then the carpet over the top with a dab of quick grip in the corners. Hasn't moved since putting it in. The front section was coated with sound deadening then underlay and carpet on top but I didn't glue the front section in. It just sits there perfectly and hasn't moved. The good thing about not gluing the front was I could pull it up to run wires underneath it for my sound stystem. |

Cheers rodney was a bit unsure with the centre tunnel bit but then i thought well if its moulded it should fit .... i guess its comes down to manufacturing quality. I got Knox Auto Carpets moulded ones. I think the Tru-Fit ones fit better (I've used them before). I used Quik Grip contact cement along the edges and on the bit up on the toeboard. Easy to pull it up if needed (eg to change a rack) then dribble a bit more on where needed. I bought black, Lillee has RED. Looks much nicer, I'll get that next time. ![]() |

One more thing should i keep my current underlay " looks like hessian ? " or go for something more modern ? Cheers Bill |

Hey Bill, I got this colour instead of black just for something different. I think it's a bit more Custom looking ![]() The quality is good, I got the loop pile, but make sure you get the floor mats too for the front because it will look very second hand very quickly otherwise... I had to glue mine down with contact adhesive, it I redomatted the whole car anyway so the carpet is stuck to the resomat and not the paint. The resomat is easy to remove as it's just got 3M like sticky stuff and comes off easily. Generally very happy with for the price I guess. ![]() ![]() |
