I came across a beauty last night as I was looking through my Grandfather's things - he used to have a BMC dealership back in the 60's so there is plenty of mini related stuff (including all the old BMC tools)
I found a book from 1964 about the making of the mini (The Mini Story) with the introduction written by Alex Issigonis. Quite an amazing read and very technical in parts.
I scanned a few pages but now realised you cant attached anything in these forums
I could go on with many interesting facts from the book but will be here for days however here is one
The very first version of the mini was only 803cc and had 1 zenith carby, max bhp 28 @ 4,800, max torque 40 @ 2,200, comp ratio 7.2:1, valve lift 0.280in, cam period 230deg, bore x stroke 57.91x76.2
I'm planning on scanning the whole book soon and am happy to share with anybody who has an interest
cheers
